kernel parameters problem

Red Hat Enterprise linux 4

I have added these kernel parameters to /etc/sysctl.conf and when I issue the sysctl -p command it shows error for certain parameters.

[root@test01 ~]# sysctl -p
...
error: 'kernel.semmni' is an unknown key
error: 'kernel.semmns' is an unknown key
error: 'kernel.semopm' is an unknown key
error: 'kernel.semmsl' is an unknown key
...

What is the problem?

I think this is just some typo in your sysctl.conf. It should be like:

kernel.semopm = 100

Please publish your sysctl.conf.

Hi

Seems to be a syntax problem in /etc/sysctl.conf

it should be like this :

kernel.shmmax=2147483648
kernel.sem=250 32000 100 128

no space after =

etc
