topic updating openssh in Operating System - Linux

I currently have this version of openssh: openssh-2.5.2p2-5 and I am trying to update it, but getting this dependency err: rpm -Fvh openssh*.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.4) is needed by openssh-server-3.1p1-5

my current glibc is glibc-2.2.2-10, I could upgrade my glibc to resovle this dependency, but will upgrading glibc break other applications like oracle? Thanks.

If you haven't a system to test this on, then perhaps you'd be better off compiling your own openssh from source.
