Hi,

I am looking for somebody that has installed an implementation of Logical Volume Manager or Journalized File System on a Redhat 6.x Linux system. I found the sources at the Redhat Website.

With regards,
Dieter Degrendele
I have installed LVM and reiserfs on RedHat Linux machines. reiserfs is a JFS that is in the process of being developed. SuSE and mp3.com are big supporters of it's development.

I have also purchased SuSE Linux 6.4, but I like RedHat as a whole better. I am using the kernel rpm, lvm.rpm, and reiserfs.rpm from the SuSE distro. I wasn't impressed with the reiserfs, so I'm not using it. Right now, I'm just using ext2, although I plan on taking a look at the other JFS'es as they become available.

LVM works great! I've got a 40ish GB array of four disks containing multiple data volumes. I have one volume striped across all four drives, and other volumes where all of the data is on one PV. Performance is fine.

I have sucessfully, and on multiple occasions, extended an ext2 filesystem with no problems.

Let me know if you have more questions (or advice on other JFS's)

Dieter,

I have also configured several Servers (one a Production system, another a Heavily used News Server) for using LVM.

Is there something in particular your're looking for?
