we habe SUSE linux 9.3. is there any other tool like iostat to see the tape performance?

L&TT provides functionality for firmware downloads, verification of device operation, maintenance procedures, failure analysis, corrective service actions and some utility functions. Performance tools assist in troubleshooting backup and restore issues in the overall system.

Look here to download Storageworks library and tape tool, it's free and there is a version for suse 9
