Shalom,

1) Try power cycle on the internet modem
2) Try power cycle on the router.

You should not have to do anything on the router. Note that T1 connection permits full duplex internet connection. Most DSL/Cable connections can not go faster than Half Duplex.

SEP

When face with this kind of problems I start from first looking at cables ... maybe the cable going tho modem is bad ! I try an other cable "one you are sure of" .. if this is all right , I use tcpdump to get a fell on what is passing on the interface, an other think i would try is switching the two network card (that is HW swap the card or SW exchange eth0 and eth1) to see if problem persistes on the ISP connection.

If it does persist then it it could be the setup of the ISP interface "check this" if this seems good then It couls be you have a problem with the modem or ISP has a problem with your HW connect

could you tell us if you have tryed all this and more details on your finding would help

Jean-Pierre

What speed are you getting, and what speed are you supposed to be getting?

One thing I like to do is run this line:

"ping <ISP> i=1 > log.txt"
(or whatever, depending on your OS)

then importing that text file into Excel and graphing it out. 65536 seconds (the max numnber of entries that Excel can handle at one time) is roughly 18 hours.

You should get a nice smooth sine wave when plotted against time. I complain if I get more than 2% drops or there are unexplained spikes.</ISP>
