    <description>&lt;BR /&gt;I have had exactly the same trouble on DL360 G5.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To get around this problem I updated the kernel to 2.6.9-32 (I used 2.6.9-42) or later, updated to the latest CCISS drivers (2.6.14-7) from HP.com and diskdump (1.3.15-1) and the service started working OK.</description>

I found the following in the /var/log/messages.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;diskdump: diskdumpctl: /dev/cciss/c0d0p3 is not supported!&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;Please suggest.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;]# more /etc/redhat-release&lt;BR /&gt;Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 2)&lt;BR /&gt;----------------------------------------------# more /etc/sysconfig/diskdump&lt;BR /&gt;#&lt;BR /&gt;# DEVICE=/dev/sdc8&lt;BR /&gt;#&lt;BR /&gt;DEVICE=/dev/cciss/c0d0p3&lt;BR /&gt;----------------------------------------------# service diskdump initialformat&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/cciss/c0d0p3: [100.0%]&lt;BR /&gt;----------------------------------------------# chkconfig diskdump on&lt;BR /&gt;# service diskdump start&lt;BR /&gt;Starting diskdump:                                         [FAILED]&lt;BR /&gt;---------------------------------------------- &lt;BR /&gt;Thanks &amp;amp; Regards.</description>

      <description>I don't know diskdump, but maybe only a trouble on fstab ? (5th field should be set to 1 for dump)</description>
