      <title>can't allocate kernel memory for module</title>

      <description>I am trying to modprobe/insmod the smbfs.o module and I get the following errors:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[root@xxxxx root]# modprobe smbfs&lt;BR /&gt;/lib/modules/2.4.21-27.ELsmp/kernel/fs/smbfs/smbfs.o: can't allocate kernel memory for module; needed 44944 bytes&lt;BR /&gt;/lib/modules/2.4.21-27.ELsmp/kernel/fs/smbfs/smbfs.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.21-27.ELsmp/kernel/fs/smbfs/smbfs.o failed&lt;BR /&gt;/lib/modules/2.4.21-27.ELsmp/kernel/fs/smbfs/smbfs.o: insmod smbfs failed&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have never seen this before, any ideas?  Samba is started.</description>
