Hi,
This isn't really a Linux problem. The 2509 is an access server and is generally used to allow dail-in via a modem bank to a network. To set this up you will have to re-configure your router, not really a good idea if you're not sure of what you're doing. Try looking around at www.cisco.com/public/support/tac/home.shtml

You'll find there the config docs for the 2509 and Cisco IOS as well as overviews for networking, modems, routing, ppp and some other material you might need. If your router is in "live" environment I really wouldn't recomend playing with the config as this could down your whole network.
Depending on what it is you're wanting to do, (eg provide printing services or dial-in for a network), there is probably an easier way, (eg a print server).
Hope this helps.

John.

Hi,

From the product docs on the Cisco web site:-

"The access server connects terminals, printers, modems, microcomputers, and remote LANs over asynchronous serial lines to an internetwork. The access server uses a set of connection services to allow remote networks access to an internetwork of LANs and WANs."

So, I'd say, yes, it is possible.

John.
