    <description>Hi all,&lt;BR /&gt;I found the below document concerning skype.&lt;BR /&gt;(document:voice quality and some other aspects of skype functionality will be greatly improved if you also open up ountgoing UDP traffic to all ports above 1024 and allow UDP replies to come back in)&lt;BR /&gt;I am very new to the firewall rules.Can you please provide me with the rules that translate this document on a linux firewall using iptables.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks</description>

      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;iptables -L &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Displays fireall policy.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you get from skype what ports need to be open, there is avery good third party firewall tool called firestarter that helps do solid setups.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.fs-security.com" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.fs-security.com&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It has a GUI. Skype should function well in a standard Internet sharing arrangement.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>Consider looking at Shorewall. &lt;BR /&gt;It doesn't have a GUI, but does have very&lt;BR /&gt;good documentation and default setups for&lt;BR /&gt;most configurations.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A default accept policy for outgoing traffic&lt;BR /&gt;should have Skype happy.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should determine what port Skype&lt;BR /&gt;needs either by seearch the net as previously&lt;BR /&gt;mentioned, or by closing the firewall and &lt;BR /&gt;watchig the log files to see what gets blocked.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
