topic Printing PRN files in Operating System - Linux

The production house I had been dealing with had a change of staff and now seem unable to print out the PRN file I sent to them. The printer they use is a HP design jet 650C (C2359B). The file I sent to them is a Corel Draw 8 file in 22 X 38 size. Can you tell me what they can do to print this file for me?

Typically these files are the Binary images of the print-outs themselves.

By any chance do you have a Printer Queue established for the Printer?

If so, then you should be able to cat the PRN file to the Printer Queue (eg.

cat <FILENAME> | lpr -P<PRINTER name="">

Where <FILENAME> is the name of the PRN file and <PRINTER name=""> is the name of the printer you are going to Print to.

Hope this helps.</PRINTER></FILENAME></PRINTER></FILENAME>
