SNMP in AS 4 U2.

All,

I have the following rpms in one of the EL 4 machines. How can i configure the SNMP strings in this machine.

net-snmp-libs-5.1.2-11.EL4.6
net-snmp-5.1.2-11.EL4.6

I can not see snmpd.conf anywhere in the system.

Copy /usr/share/doc/net-snmp-5.1.2/EXAMPLE.conf to /etc/snmpd if you don't have /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf.

These are the directories in /usr/share/doc, i can not see net-snmp-5.1.2.

Please post the output of:

rpm -qil net-snmp-5.1.2-11.EL4.6
rpm -V net-snmp-5.1.2-11.EL4.6

Execute snmpconf script. It helps you to configure an snmp.conf file and where it should be stored.

Silver,

first you need to install net-snmp* packages using:

rpm -i package

and after that proceed with snmp.conf details.
