You can use cfg2html - http://www.cfg2html.com/

available for Linux and HP-UX.

Ooops sorry, i mean for examine.For exercise and learning use some live cd -http://www.frozentech.com/content/livecd.php

it not require intallation and boot in true linux environment.

Hi!

#!/bin/bash
make dep
while [ "foo" = "foo" ]
do
make clean
make -j2 bzImage
if [ $? -ne 0 ]
then
echo OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH
exit 1
fi
done

This scritp recompile the kernel in loop.
If it work correctly, it's ok, if you receive an error like:
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 11
your cpu is probably damaged
