      <description>Dear Friends,&lt;BR /&gt;I want to install one HP 4/16 GB DAT drive to my Intel server having RedHAT Linux 6.2.       <description>OK - now that it's working...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Boot your system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When it comes up, do a &lt;DMESG&gt;. You should see something like:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  Vendor: HP Model: C1533A Rev AN04.&lt;BR /&gt;  Type: sequential-Acess ANSI SCSI rev.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The unit will probably be &lt;ST0&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Enter the following command &lt;MT -f=""&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should see something like:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  SCSI 2 tape drive:&lt;BR /&gt;  File number=-1 block number=-1 partition=0&lt;BR /&gt;Tape block size 0 bytes, Density code 0x0 (default)&lt;BR /&gt;etc etc etc&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Create the following entry for UNIX compatability:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#cd /dev&lt;BR /&gt;#ln -s /dev/st0 /dev/rmt0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Finally, if you're using (t)csh, put the following line into your &amp;lt;.login&amp;gt; file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  setenv TAPE /dev/rmt0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards,&lt;BR /&gt;tonyp&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/MT&gt;&lt;/ST0&gt;&lt;/DMESG&gt;</description>
