    <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We have linux 9 installed in ProLiant with SAP dialog instance running on.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We started SAP but when we checked status we found this message:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;System imposed size of of shared mem segments: 107341824, required: 1073741924.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can I increase this value without any issue?&lt;BR /&gt;Should I restart server?&lt;BR /&gt;Is there any limit for this parameter?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance for your help.&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Carles&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>SuSE 9 (64bit) SAP R3 server right?....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can set this in /etc/sysconfig/kernel&lt;BR /&gt;The variable is: SHMFS_SIZE="NUMBER"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Note that you can add a "G" after the number to make it as GB.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Ensure you have installed RPMs saplocales &amp;amp; suse-sapinit then you may have to massage/combine /etc/sysctl.conf, /etc/sysctl.conf.sap&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Stephen</description>
