Hello Huc, hello Steven,

of course i tried to boot with the irqpoll option, the laptop does not freeze as often as it used to without irqpolling, but it still happens, futhermore if i use irqpoll another problem appears
hda: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason = 0x01). which causes the dvd-rt to dvd-rom / cdrom not to work.

After reading through the nvidia and ndiswrapper forums there seems to be know really good workaround. Concerning to nvidia the response to the problem is cause through the bios.
At the moment i'm using the native bcm43xx driver which works but is only capable to get transfer rates up to 60 kb/s. Another alternative would be to use the nv driver instead nvidia, which seems not to have any problems with ndiswrapper.

Regards

Kurt

Hello,

the combination of the nvida grahpcis card driver and ndiswrapper combined with the bios of the dv9057 causes random freezes with ubuntu 6.1.

As far as i can see there is a problem that the graphic card and the broadcom wlan chip share the irq 66

Dec 31 16:34:49 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] irq 66: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option)
Dec 31 16:34:49 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] <C01499A4> __report_bad_irq+0x24/0x80 <C0149A9D> note_interrupt+0x9d/0x270
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] <F9B5FC05> nv_kern_isr+0x2f/0x62 [nvidia] <C0149323> handle_IRQ_event+0x33/0x60
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] <C0149448> __do_IRQ+0xf8/0x110 <C0105C89> do_IRQ+0x19/0x30
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] <C010408A> common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 <C0102080> default_idle+0x0/0x60
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] <C01020AA> default_idle+0x2a/0x60 <C0102122> cpu_idle+0x42/0xb0
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] <C03F07A1> start_kernel+0x321/0x3a0 <C03F0210> unknown_bootoption+0x0/0x270
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] handlers:
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] [pg0+955170576/1068901376] (ndis_isr+0x0/0xc0 [ndiswrapper])
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] [pg0+963394518/1068901376] (nv_kern_isr+0x0/0x62 [nvidia])
Dec 31 16:34:50 debux kernel: [17186207.160000] Disabling IRQ #66

After that irq is disabled the laptop freezes (as far as i can tell the wlan conenction and X are gone).

No i would like to ask i anyone has got a idea how to avoid that problem?

Regards

Kurt</C03F0210></C03F07A1></C0102122></C01020AA></C0102080></C010408A></C0105C89></C0149448></C0149323></F9B5FC05></C0149A9D></C01499A4>
