    <description>What gcc rpm packages are installed? kernel-smp-devel rpm? Are you by any chance running Oracle on this system and has the compiler been renamed (stupid Oracle instructions)?&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <title>HP ASM with Red Hat EL4 problems</title>

      <description>I am trying to install the Proliant ASM software on a Red Hat EL4 box on a Proliant DL380 server. However the hpasm does not start and refers me to  the cpqhealth_boot.log which reads:&lt;BR /&gt;----------------------------------------------------&lt;BR /&gt;Enabling Advanced Server Management at Fri Feb  9 10:47:49 EST 2007 on Linux kernel:  2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The hp ProLiant Event Logging Driver is not available&lt;BR /&gt;for this Linux kernel:  2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Looking for sources to build 2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sources for Linux kernel 2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp have been located&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Recompiling cpqevt for current Linux Kernel . . .&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;WARNING! Not able to rebuild the hp ProLiant Event Logging Driver on this kernel!&lt;BR /&gt;See /opt/compaq/cpqhealth/cpqhealth_boot.log&lt;BR /&gt;for error details.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The ProLiant ASM driver has failed to load!&lt;BR /&gt;~&lt;BR /&gt;-------------------------------------------&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!</description>
