In Redhat Enterprise 4 system, sendmail and squirrelmail service are running. Under our mail server, internal user can send/receive mail each other (like info@test.com and dir@test.com)

But user can not send/receive mail to other mail servers (like john@yahoo.com, shele@hotmail.com ).

How I can solve this problem.

I need the output of the last lines of the /var/log/maillog file.

You probably have a problem connecting to remote SMTP server or a DNS problem and you cannot resolve the MX record for external domains.

You should check your dns configuration, for example:

dig yahoo.com MX

Must return a list of mail servers for the yahoo.com domain.

Shalom,

Its possible that the yahoo and hotmail servers are not accepting mail, or that Host Name resolution is not working.

SEP
