Hi Rejionline.
Please find the info below:
Red Hat updates are available for the following current releases:
Red Hat Desktop (v. 3)
Red Hat Desktop (v. 4)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS (v. 3)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS (v. 4)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES (v. 3)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES (v. 4)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS (v. 3)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS (v. 4)

These updates are available over the Red Hat Network. The Red Hat document at the following URL provides detailed information about the updates: http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2006-0622.html

Note: This document does not provide details about the changes for the DST rules for the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda. However, given that the updates to the tzdata package are cumulative, the latest errata is listed. Outdated documents listing the specific changes can be found at the following URLs:
Red Hat v. 3 - http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2005-655.html
Red Hat v. 4 - http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2005-656.html
This involves an update to:

RHEL 2.1 -> glibc of at least level glibc-2.2.4-32.23

RHEL 3 & 4 -> tzdata of at least level tzdata-2005m-1.EL3 or tzdata-2005m-1.EL4 respectively.

Red Hat specifically addresses this issue in FAQ Article 7909

Confirmation of Linux fix

You may test for the presence of the fix by examining the DST settings on the live system. You will run the command:

# zdump -v CST6CDT | grep 2007

On a system without the adjustments you will see:
CST6CDT Sun Apr 1 07:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Apr 1 01:59:59 2007 CST isdst=0 mtoff=-21600
CST6CDT Sun Apr 1 08:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Apr 1 03:00:00 2007 CST isdst=0 mtoff=-18000
CST6CDT Sun Oct 28 06:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Oct 28 01:59:59 2007 CST isdst=0 gmtoff=-18000
CST6CDT Sun Oct 28 07:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Oct 28 01:00:00 2007 CST isdst=0 gmtoff=-21600

On a system with the adjustments you will see:
CST6CDT Sun Mar 11 07:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Mar 11 01:59:59 2007 CST isdst=0 gmtoff=-21600
CST6CDT Sun Mar 11 08:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Mar 11 03:00:00 2007 CST isdst=0 gmtoff=-18600
CST6CDT Sun Nov 4 06:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Nov 4 01:59:59 2007 CST isdst=0 gmtoff=-18600
CST6CDT Sun Nov 4 07:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Nov 4 01:00:00 2007 CST isdst=0 gmtoff=-21600

Notice that the April and October dates were changed to March and November.

Changes to Daylight Saving Time affecting IBM SDK for Java on Linux platforms

The changes being made to the Java SDK and Java Runtime Environment (JRE) for time zone adjustments are independent of the changes for the Linux operating system. Make sure that both the operating system fix and the Java fix are applied to ensure that Java applications will handle the DST change successfully. The sequence in which the fixes are applied does not matter.

Note: Although the Linux operating system provides a facility for DST specification, this facility is not used by the Java SDK and JRE. Therefore, a separate DST update is necessary for the Java SDK and JRE.

Information regarding DST fixes for the IBM Java SDK running on Linux platforms is provided at the following URL:
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux/dst.html

Confirmation of IBM SDK for Java fix

You can confirm that the version of the IBM SDK for Java on your system contains the DST update by using the IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java (JTZU) with the DISCOVERONLY value set to true. Refer to the following URL for information about how to use the utility: http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/dw/jdk/dst/readme.htm
