Hiall, my system is a dl580, g3, with 4 processors and 4096 ram. Once my system was fully build, I did a uname -a and get the following output..

Kernel= 2.6.9-42.0.10.ELlargesmp.

Is this the correct kernel that should be running? I loked at my grub.conf and the only other one I have is smp.

I thought I should be running atleast ELsmp kernel.

Yes,

You are running the right release and kernel.

The importrant part is smp.

Thanks, I just didn't want to rebuild my system 10 times thinking I was putting the wrong kernel on.
