Hi,

I have an rx3600 running RedHat 4 with a pair of Qlogic (QLA2460) cards. When I try to install the software that I download from HP (either hp_qla2x00-2007-1-25.zip or the *10-11.zip) I get the following errors...

[root@regulus hp_qla2x00-2006-10-11]# ./INSTALL
Installing hp_qla2x00src RPM...

Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
Logfile is /var/log/hp_qla2x00_install.log
Getting list of QLA FC HBAs
No QLA FC HBAs found on system; proceeding with installation
1:hp_qla2x00src ########################################### [100%]
No driver loaded, using failover mode
Writing new /etc/hp_qla2x00.conf...done
Copying /opt/hp/src/hp_qla2x00src/libqlsdm-ia64.so to /usr/lib/libqlsdm.so
Modifying /etc/hba.conf
Kernel modules directory: /lib/modules/2.6.9-42.EL/kernel/drivers/scsi/qla2xxx
Kernel build directory: /lib/modules/2.6.9-42.EL/build

Cannot find /lib/modules/2.6.9-42.EL/build

Driver build unsuccessful

Making symbolic link from /opt/hp/src/hp_qla2x00src/master.sh to /usr/sbin/hp_compile_qldriver
qla2x00 driver source can be found in /opt/hp/src/hp_qla2x00src

Installing fibreutils...

Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:fibreutils ########################################### [100%]
[root@regulus hp_qla2x00-2006-10-11]#

It does install 2 rpms, but this can't be a complete install...

fwiw the sansurfer rpm doesn't install either.

Any ideas?

-Randy
Hi,

Small update. I was able to get SANsurfer 5 to install, but when I run it I just get two blank grey boxes...

-Randy

Hi,

Another update. I apparently needed to install kernel-devel to get the installation script to run. The hp_qla driver is now built...good.

I still just get two blank boxes with SANsurfer though...

-Rnady

Hi,

So, now that I have the drivers, I removed SANSurfer and re-installed it...and it seems to work.

Geez...I should give myself points for this :-)

-Randy
