lssd stopped seeing new luns after Kernel update.

Hello,

A team member has updated a REDHAT Kernel from 2.6.9-22 to 2.6.9-42 and now we have to reboot the server to see any new presented LUNS ???

Here's the usual procedure:

1.Create LUN on EVA and Present to Server.
2.#hp_rescan -a
3.#lssd

I usually see the new LUN right away, but now i cant. It can't be the drivers or anything like that, because we would not see the LUNS after the reboot.

What do I have to do to see my new LUNS without performing a reboot?

Hi Nigel,

I seem to recall there being an option in the HP driver kit to rebuild things for all kernels... Unfortunately I don't have a RH box in front of me to check at the moment.

I'm guessing that might do something to the various hp fibretools.

It might also be that the new kernel has installed the standard QLogic driver module rather than HP's version... That could explain why you can still see your storage, but the HP toos aren't working...
