Hi there

I nead an advise.
There is a company which wants me to deploy a Web Based CRM system (Ruby on Rails/MySql).
It will be hosted on dedicated remote system (http://www.melbourne.co.uk) on linux boxes.

Load ballancing and redundancy must be involved.

Qestions:

1)I don't understand why the remote location, as I will administer and maintain the system?

2)What load ballacing hardware should I use ? (the internet is full of them I nead to choose the easy to set and not that expensive)

3)Should I use two load ballancers for redundancy ?

4)What do I do to configure clusters and load ballancing?

5) Is JetNexus any good ?

By ssh and remote console - all modern servers provide you with remote access to server's console via network

I'll suggest you to check possibility to use load-balancing from your hoster.
If you anyway need to install/configure LB by yourself, read about LVS, for example in https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/csgfs/

yes!

again - you can buy this service from your hoster or use RH Cluster Manager, for example.

Shalom,

1) I don't understand this question.

2) You can use Linux Virtual machine technology from the cluster pirhana suite, you don't need hardware. Think about round robin DNS configuration, which will need to change when one or other is down.

3) Two front end systems is enough.

4) LVS/pirhana is a good option.

5) Don't know.
