How to store BIOS boot information

Hi

I am using windows 2003 server and RHEL AS3 in my machine. I want to delete win2003 and install again. If i install again boot choice will not dispaly normally.

How I store boot information and restore it again after win2003 installation ?

How i see the boot choice when machine boot ?

Please tell me detail abaout boot information

What boot-manager do you use?

Windows or Linux/grub?

Hi Mohammed,

If itâ s your home machine, I suggest you to take a backup of your data and try the following.

As you like format windows and install a fresh copy, after that you will lose your boot loader information i.e. system will load Windows only.

After this, boot with Linux CD and go to the rescue mode. From there using "grub-install" install boot loader. Then grub will overwrite the Windows boot loader.

Then in the next reboot you will have grub boot loader and multiboot choice.

Feel this as a try !! Make sure you have backed up your important stuffs.
