After logging into SMH no catagories are displayed

This is on RHEL5 U2/DL380 G4.

HP Agents loaded:
cmanic-7.8.0-3.rhel5
cpqacuxe-7.80-6
hpacucli-7.80-6
hpadu-7.80-6
hpasm-7.8.0-88.rhel5
hpdiags-7.8.0-159
hpsmh-2.1.9-178

I had something similar to this with RHEL3 caused by no snmpd.conf file but this is not the case now.

I checked, snmpd is running, the snmpd.conf file was modified by the install:

# Following entries were added by HP Insight Management Agents at
#Wed Jul 25 18:36:30 CDT 2007
dlmod cmaX /usr/lib/libcmaX.so
rwcommunity password 127.0.0.1
syscontact Root (configure /etc/snmp/snmp.local.conf)
syslocation Unknown (edit /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf)

Can someone give me some pointers where to start troubleshooting?

Peter,

Check if all of the hp* services are running -- hpasm, hpsmh, etc. Also I always reboot after initial PSP install.

Check if all of the hp* services are running -- hpasm, hpsmh, etc. Check the log file from the PSP installer -- /var/log/hppldu.log too, make sure all components installed correctly.
Also I always reboot after initial PSP install.
