DONE 2.ADD DEVICE.

Third step: If I select either one, it is running anaconda ,red hat enterprise and finally goes to graphical mode. After selecting languages, mouse and keyboard options, then it asks, how can u select the partition either automatically or manually partition with disk druid.
If ,I select either one , it was showing the following information.

An error has occurred,no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems,.please check your hardware for the cause of this problem.

After that the system is rebooting auto matically.

please help me

Shalom,

The OS lacks drivers for this very modern hardware. I'd suggest CentOS 4 (Red Hat AS 4) or a newer distribution.

SEP

Shalom,

I am trying to help.

Your system has a setup utility [F8 or F9] at boot. You need to use that utility to set up your storage.

After you complete that, Red Hat will find the disk.

I use these very same servers, and it works.

SEP

The support matrix list Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 2 as the minimum supported version on this system. If your using the original RHEL4 release version I don't think it contains a cciss driver that supports the Smart Array controller in that system.
