Proliant DL 760 G2 Redhat Linux AS4 32-bit

When I'm installing my support pack, i get to the following screen:

Preparing to install HP StorageWorks FCA2214/FCA2214DC FC HBA Driver for 2.6.x Kernels v8.01.06.01-8

This RPM provides the HP supported version of the QLogic
Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter driver. It is a scripted RPM
that will build the driver from source code contained in the
RPM, copy the driver files to the correct directories, and
edit the system startup files so that the driver starts at
system boot time.
This version of the driver RPM only works with 2.6 kernels.

Files necessary to complete the installation of the HP StorageWorks FCA2214/FCA2214DC FC HBA Driver for 2.6.x Kernels were not found!

The HP Linux Support Deployment Utility has the capability to access necessary files on a remote server via NFS.

Please enter the Name of the Remote NFS Server.
Please use the fully qualified hostname, or IP address.
(i.e. hostname.domain.topleveldomain)
=>

--

anyone have any advice?

I fixed this by making sure the following RPM's are installed:

- gcc-2.96-108.1 or later
- cpp-2.96-108.1 or later
- binutil-2.11.90.0.8 or later
- glibc-devel-2.2.4-26 or later

Shalom,

PSP 7.90 is supposed to provide any needed rpms at installation.

It would appear you have found a flaw. Were you using psp 7.90 or an earlier version?

SEP

Steven,
This is not a flaw. The PSP documentation states that build environment RPMs must be selected during installation. If the build environment selections are made, the PSP will add any other necessary RPMs needed to install the HP Value-add software included in the PSP.

Regards,
Michael Garner
HP Linux PSP Developer
