Hello All,

If my fc card (/dev/td0 ; part'A6795-62001' ) driver version is (B.11.11.12) is it ok for my FCD (FibrChanl-00) to be at B.11.11.09 ? I noticed fcmsutil indicates a patch (PHSS_31326). Is this what brings my fc cards to Driver version B.11.11.12 ?

#####################################
HP-UX hohp231 B.11.11 U 9000/800/L3000-7x
#####################################
# /etc/ioscan -nfkC fc
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=================================================================
fc 0 0/10/0/0 td CLAIMED INTERFACE HP Tachyon XL2 Fibre Channel Mass Storage Adapter
/dev/td0
#####################################
# fcmsutil /dev/td0

Vendor ID is = 0x00103c
Device ID is = 0x001029
XL2 Chip Revision No is = 2.2
PCI Sub-system Vendor ID is = 0x00103c
PCI Sub-system ID is = 0x00128c
Topology = PTTOPT_FABRIC
Link Speed = 2Gb
Local N_Port_id is = 0x0a0300
N_Port Node World Wide Name = 0x50060b0000111897
N_Port Port World Wide Name = 0x50060b0000111896
Driver state = ONLINE
Hardware Path is = 0/10/0/0
Number of Assisted IOs = 1516607
Number of Active Login Sessions = 2
Dino Present on Card = NO
Maximum Frame Size = 1024
Driver Version = @(#) libtd.a HP Fibre Channel Tachyon TL/TS/XL2 Driver B.11.11.12 PATCH_11.11 (PHSS_31326) /ux/kern/kisu/TL/src/common/wsio/td_glue.c: Sep 5 2005, 10:14:40
#####################################
# fcmsutil /dev/td0 vpd
V I T A L P R O D U C T D A T A
--------- ------------- -------

Product Discription :'A6795A 2Gbps/1Gbps Fibre Channel 4X PCI HBA'

Part number :'A6795-62001'

Engineering Date Code :'A-4210'

Part Serial number :'A56466144007'

Misc.
This HP-UX question seems to be a bit lost in the Linux forum, but anyway:
yes, installing the patch PHSS_31326 causes the driver version to be indicated as "B.11.11.12 PATCH_11.11 (PHSS_31326)".

According to the patch information available in itrc.hp.com, the patch PHSS_31326 applies to various versions of the FC-TACHYON-TL.FC-TL-RUN fileset, from the version B.11.11.01 up to B.11.11.12, so looks like it's OK.

I'll notify the moderators to move this thread to the HP-UX forum.

MK
