Looks more like a HP-UX kernel compile here (as I don't recognise any of those names from my linux experience).

Try over at the HP-UX System Administration forum (http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,156,00.html)

Maurizio,

Just a wild guess, as I unfortunatly don't have an HP-UX system available to test that, but have you edited your kernel parameters by hand or with SAM? Some parameters are dependant on others. SAM warns you if you modify a parameter so that another one runs into trouble (or did it even force you to choose a sane value...? can't remember, too long ago), but if you edit things by hand, you might have struck something like that.

But again, just a guess...

Good luck!

Hans

Can you post your exact steps?

It does sound like you've tried to edit the system file by hand. The other possibility is that you have a duff patch installed on your system (though that usually results in unsatisfied symbol errors).

If you edited by hand, go back through the manual kernel rebuild steps and try again (that's probably safer than trying to re-edit your file in case you have unseen control chars in there).

If not, try checking to see if you have some unconfigured patches.
