      <description>&amp;gt; my question is on NIS...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;NIS is not what most people would call a file&lt;BR /&gt;sharing scheme.  NFS is a file sharing scheme.&lt;BR /&gt;If you want to mount some remote file system&lt;BR /&gt;on your local system, then you probably want&lt;BR /&gt;NFS, not NIS.  If you want to share passwd,&lt;BR /&gt;group, and similar data among some systems,&lt;BR /&gt;then NIS may be what you want, but it doesn't&lt;BR /&gt;really "share a file".</description>
