I'm not sure what function the 'dtwmrc' file performs in HP-UX, but I'm picking it's something that auto-starts given applications upon signing in to the CDE ?

If so, you might want to look at the /etc/X11/xinit/xinit.d/ structure, or possibly a ~/.xinitrc file.

Note that if you use a .xinitrc, you'll have to make sure it ends with 'exec gnome-session' to start your Windows manager.

If that isn't the function of the 'dtwmrc' file, then sorry :)

Hi all:

Recently switched my desktop from HP CDE to RH Ximian Gnome.

I really liked the feature of the dtwmrc file and how I could modify it to make life easier for connecting to other systems. How can I do the same with Linux?

The dtwmrc file allows for modification of the menu that appears when you right click the mouse on the desktop. Modfifications I had done on the HP dtwmrc file allow for the additional menu selections to connect to other systems. So in essence, how do I modify the menu that appears when you right click on the desktop?
