      <title>Kernel Panic during Install</title>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;I am installing RH Ent linux 5 and getting the following errors ( after installing from 1/7 , 2/7 , 3/7 cds ) and I am not provding the installation number : &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;device-mapper:table:253:0:linear:dm-linear:Device lookup failed &lt;BR /&gt;device-mapper:reload : ioctl failed :Invalid argument &lt;BR /&gt;2 Logical volumes in Volume group "VolGroup00" now active &lt;BR /&gt;init[1]:segfault at .....rp.....rsp....error 4&lt;BR /&gt;nash recieved SIGSEGV Backtrace&lt;BR /&gt;kernel panic not syncing :Attempted to kill init.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PLEASE help.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks.</description>

      <description>which server and which architecture you are installing?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sometimes it seen that, if your architecture is 32-bit and u install the 64-bit, it'll gave error.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check your hardware architecture and your installation CD's</description>

      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Kernel panic on install comes from a number of sources.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1) Hardware not supported by the OS in the system.&lt;BR /&gt;2) Installation of the OS to an unspported platform, eg 64 bit install on 32 bit only hardware as an example. IA64 OS on a non-Itanium system is another common cause.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should check these things.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>
