Shalom,

You install smart start PSP for 64 bit Linux. The cpqacu utility (stands for Compaq Array Configuration Utility) after installation permits web based configuration of the MSA-1000.

That permits you to set up raid groups and such.

It is really hard to find this gigantic download.
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/dl_linux.html

Your server shipped with a copy of this CD/DVD and that would be reasonable to use. Many of the shipped versions of cpqacu don't work right. Plan some time to work this this.

SEP

The MSA-1000 is a disk storage system, not tape. You can use the ACU utility that is included in the ProLiant Support Pack (PSP) or download the CD image for configuring the storage system.

latest PSP for RHEL4 x86_64

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1121516&prodNameId=3288134&swEnvOID=2026&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-3600960ff10341098a51126093

CD image file for the MSA-1000

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=377751&prodNameId=305215&swEnvOID=2025&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=co-47057-1

You shouldn't need the whole PSP, just the array management tools. If you install the whole PSP it will replace some of the standard distribution drivers with HP's versions, which you may not want.
