I need some keypoints on migrating from HPUX V8.0 to RH 5.

any guidelines that I could follow re: migrating users, configs, kernel tuning, etc..

...?) Is there some particular mystery here?

A new Linux kernel probably has little in
common with a very old HP-UX kernel. Knowing
nothing about what this system actually does,
it's hard for me to guess what you might need
to tune.

With no useful description of either the old
system or the new system, or of what they
might be doing, how much useful info were you
expecting to get here?

user migration: By hand, noting on an 8.0 system is remotely usable in Linux.

tuning? can't imagine the hardware you have hpux 8 running on, but even the slowest x86 server you can find today must be 100 times faster.

also out of the box, if and when you disable X, the performance and stability of RH is very good.
