    <description>thx reply ,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;you said it can't , do you mean the os in vm server can't connect EXTERNAL DEVICE ? I tried to connect floppy , cdrom , it seems work fine , but I not try the external device ( like tape device ) yet , is this the limitation of vmware ? thx</description>

      <description>I have a linux server (server A), I want to install a vmware on it , and install another linux server on this vmware ( server B) , I want the server B be the backup server , can server B  connect all the external backup device ( the server A of course can connect it ) ? thx</description>

      <description>No. It can't. You should use network backup. But also, if you want to virtualize linux over linux, use Xen virtualization intead of vmware.</description>
