By default, all traps are emailed to root on the local host. This is configured using the trapemail directive in /opt/compaq/cma.conf. It is a self-documenting file.

There is no way to distinguish between alerts using this method--all of them are sent. You can use HP SIM to be the receiver of SNMP traps and then selectively use HP SIM's Action on Event capability to only forward via email those you are interested in.

HP SIM is licensed as part of your purchase of a ProLiant server--there's no additional cost. If you don't have a current management CD from one of your servers, you can download HP SIM from http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim --> Download.

I am running DL360's with SLES10 and I am trying to configure email notification for disk array problems, fan failure or any other physical health issues. I installed the HP insight manager agents on the server and now I am able to see all this information at https://IP_of_server:2381
But, I don't find a place where I can put an email address. I don't have a license to for ICE-Linux or HP Sim server. I'll appreciate if anyone can guide me in the right direction.
thanks.
