Has someone used mondorescue on itanium platform ?

The recovery operation from OBDR tape doesn't work

When I put the tape drive in OBDR mode, the magnetic tape, written by mondorescue (mondoarchive -Oto -l ELILO -d /dev/st0) is automatically expelled.

This problem doesn't exist using mondorescue on ProLiant platform.

Thanks

Hi,

chcek the tape model ( is it ultrium or dds ) & tape drive model ?.

Best practice is to do the restoration on the same tape drive though which you taken the backup.

Regrads
Prasu

Hi,
The tape drive model is: HP C7438A (DAT-72)

The magnetic tape is HP DAT-72 C8010A

The Tape drive supports the OBDR functions.

I am sure because the same tape drive has been used for the mondorescue recovery on ProLiant server with success.

I think the problem is the boot file written on tape.

Checking the file /var/cache/mindi/mondorescue.iso (boot file in iso format) the file size is too small:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 34816 Dec 2 12:38 mondorescue.iso

Thanks
