    <description>If you want a program which is "exactly like"&lt;BR /&gt;"xxd", then you may wish to use "xxd".  The&lt;BR /&gt;source code seems to be available.  If all&lt;BR /&gt;you want is a dump program which comes with&lt;BR /&gt;the OS, then try "od".&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt; [...] old solaris system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Even old Solaris systems have "uname -a".</description>

      <description>im looking for another way to convert binary file to a txt file  exactly like what xxd do.&lt;BR /&gt;we are talking about old solaris system.&lt;BR /&gt;so bash or perl will be preferable</description>

      <description>when i said "old" i meant solaris 8 and 9&lt;BR /&gt;and there is a really really good reason why i cant use xxd (or install one) &lt;BR /&gt;thanks for telling me that source code seems to be available   ;)   &lt;BR /&gt;and yesss uname -a works fine on solaris 8.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
