    <description>i'm using a HP proliant ML350 g5. i have 2 virtuals disks: one in RAID 1 (with 2 disks) the 2nd in raid5( with 3 disk and 1 spare disk). one of raid1 disks crashed and i'd like to remove the raid5 spare disk and replace the failled disk with it. &lt;BR /&gt;my probleme is that i can't diseable the spare from raid5 while in smarstart bios( F8 while booting and after the message Slot 0 HP array E200i controller ). can somebody help me?</description>

      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you can't do it via the smartstart web interface, then boot the system and try the bios based interface.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If this does not work,you are out of luck, you need to back up and rebuild the system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Best option in your failure scenario is to run the system without one of the raid 1 disks until you get a replacement disk installed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The spare scenario for the raid 5 disk is a very useful thing to have, especially if important data is on that raid 5 partition.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>
