> The message is almost self explanatory.

Which puts it well ahead of the Subject here.
Could you think of a more useless title than
"Quick Question"? I don't see how. No
mention of Oracle, no mention of what you
were doing, no mention of the actual error
message, ...

In other words, no useful information at all.

Quick Question

I encounter the following error while doing a recovery:

ORA-19505: failed to identify file "/ora_backup/prod1/PDSPROD_2939_1_690167697_2009_06_22_01:00_Mon_Full_Cold"

ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status

Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory

Additional information: 3

oracle@chw-hpm-001 log]$ ls -l /ora_backup/prod1/PDSPROD_2939_1_690167697_2009_06_22_01:00_Mon_Full_Cold

-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 7463804928 Jun 22 02:16 /ora_backup/prod1/PDSPROD_2939_1_690167697_2009_06_22_01:00_Mon_Full_Cold

The file actually exists so I’m trying to find out why oracle/linux think it’s not there. Do you know what would these mean and what would cause them?

Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory

Additional information: 3
