There is a third-party vendor product called "Storix" that works very well and reliable. Bad part is it is not free.

Hello everbody!

Please, I would like to know if there is something similiar with make_recovery on HPUX to Linux. I mean, I need to do a backup of my Linux Operation System. In fact we have DAT tapes or ignite to HPUX, but how can we do something similar to Linux.

I'm talking about RHEL 5.

Please, could someone give me a help?

Thanks!

Shalom,

Three ways I know of:

1) http://mondorescue.org free, reasonably reliable.
2) http://www.acronis.com Not free, very reliable and versatile.
3) dd if=/dev/sda of=/mount_point_on_nfs.iso bs=1024 count=####

Make sure the count covers the entire disk on the dd command. Recovering from this image can be difficult. Change /dev/sda to your actual boot disk path.

Ignite does not exist for Linux.

SEP
