Hello,

Thanks for the info.

I forgot to ask for the Storage Vendor.

I guess the rule should be the same for any storage vendor, check with your storage vendor.

My understanding;

Lets say you have HP as your storage vendor, they may release a new out of the box driver, they are going to support the out of the box driver. Check if your storage vendor has a new dirver released.

sometimes the only way to get the latest driver is to update the OS, in your case going to RHEL 5 update 4.

Always check with your storage vendor if they have out-box driver update that may fix your problem.

let me know if need more info.

-Thank You
Bharath
Hello Ossupport55,

Yes, you are correct.

Once the driver is inbox, if there are any updates the OS vendor will put it as part of the Errata kernel or a package.

Check with your OS vendor if there are any dirver updates.

Hope this helps.

-Thank You
Bharath

Thanks Barath. If it is redhat their support will cease if i upgrade the driver as i would need to build that module into the existing kernel. Can anyone comment about this? Have i got the message clear abt Redhat?
