Viktor's suggestion can be used to save & restore disk images to/from network drives, but I understand you'd perhaps like to have a way to start a standard Windows installer using a PXE netboot.

The last time I did some Windows administration was at the era of NT4, and at that time, a network installation required creating a DOS boot disk (or an equivalent netboot image) with the necessary drivers for network connectivity. You'll probably also require a Samba share that contains a copy of the installation media.

Creating a DOS boot disk with network drivers compatible with Samba (i.e. with SMB over TCP/IP, not the simple NetBEUI) was something of a black art even back then, never mind now. You really should ask this question in a Windows forum: Windows sysadmins should know what's the current recommended method for creating a network boot image that is suitable for starting a Windows installer over the network.

MK
