    <description>Looks like you cannot do it online.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The "remove" command is for removing spare drives only, and "delete" removes a logical drive, an array or the entire controller configuration. There is no command to remove an existing non-spare physical drive.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What you want to do is to "split" the array, so that it won't automatically start rebuilding.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;See:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00378986/c00378986.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00378986/c00378986.pdf&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;After splitting the array in two, you can re-configure the other half as a separate object.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;MK</description>

      <description>&lt;!--!*#--&gt;Hi!&lt;BR /&gt;I'm trying to use hpacucli in order to remove one physical disk from one of the arrays, in order to add it to another array.&lt;BR /&gt;I've tried various commands (remove, modify) but I keep getting errors.&lt;BR /&gt;Is it possible to do this operation online?&lt;BR /&gt;How?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;See details below.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am running 64 bit Oracle Enterprise Linux Server release 5 on HP ProLiant ML350 G5.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hpacucli shows:&lt;BR /&gt;HP Array Configuration Utility CLI 8.35-7.0&lt;BR /&gt;Smart Array E200i in Slot 0 (Embedded)    (sn: QL75MV1555     )&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;=&amp;gt; ctrl all show config&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Smart Array E200i in Slot 0 (Embedded)    (sn: QL75MV1555     )&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;   array A (SAS, Unused Space: 0 MB)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;      logicaldrive 1 (136.7 GB, RAID 1, OK)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;      physicaldrive 1I:1:1 (port 1I:box 1:bay 1, SAS, 146 GB, OK)&lt;BR /&gt;      physicaldrive 2I:1:7 (port 2I:box 1:bay 7, SAS, 300 GB, OK)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'd like to obtain:&lt;BR /&gt;   array A (SAS, Unused Space: 0 MB)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;      logicaldrive 1 (136.7 GB, RAID 0, OK)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;      physicaldrive 1I:1:1 (port 1I:box 1:bay 1, SAS, 146 GB, OK)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;   unassigned&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;      physicaldrive 2I:1:7 (port 2I:box 1:bay 7, SAS, 300 GB, OK)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The error:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;=&amp;gt; ctrl slot=0 array A remove drives=2I:1:7&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Error: This operation is not supported with the current configuration.
