Shalom,

The rx2660 has a P400 controller with RAID configured with two disks to raid 1.

No further configuration is required. The OS will only see 1 disk. That is the way it is supposed to work.

SEP

Hi,

Can anyone help me with the top down procedure for Mirroring RHEL5 Root Disk on Itanium-based systems, with particular emphasis for the /boot/efi part.

I would also like to know whether software mirroring is necessary, if the SAS Smart Array P400 Controller is already configured for RAID1 with the 2 target disks.

In that case, how do we have the alternate boot path in the EFI Boot Menu?

Thanks in advance.

This is how I did it, check my answer here:

http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=109447627+1266493881087+28353475&threadId=1098528

Thanks Ivan!

Just what i needed.

But if h/w RAID-1 has already been configured, and we are installing RHEL normally on top of the RAID-1 array, is it as much effective.

How do we create the Alternate Boot Path etc.

I didn't see that you where using hardware RAID, skipped that part:

From EFI Boot Manager
======================
>>Go to Boot Maintenance menu
>>Select Add boot option
>>Select the Disk path
>>Save settings to NVRAM.
