- what is your distribution (and version) ?
- what is your graphic card ?

If you have RedHat or Mdk (all I know of), you have either Xconfigurator or XF86Setup that might help.
Give them a try, provided your graphic card is supported by either XFree86 release 3.3.6 or 4.01.

Regards,

Jerome

I can't invoke the X windows on an IBM Netfinity 7000 M10 server. I try to link the /etc/X11/X using XFree86 instead of XF86_SVGA, but the display turns out to be zoomed in largely (The whole screen just display a corner of a window). Then, I try to use Xconfigurator & xf86config to configure the X, but it only updates the XF86Config file, not the XF86Config-4 file that I created with XFree86 -configure.
Anyone please help. Thanks a lot.
