hi,

for Windows OS :

iLO uses ACPI signalling--exactly the same as the physical power button. Windows 2kX interprets 'momentary press' as a signal to begin shutdown. 'Press and hold' will do a hard shutdown.

it always depends on the OS, what exacly will happen.

mikap

hi,

i forgot, to say, that normally if you like to shutdown the OS,

you should log inside and shutdown it manually, on linux for exmaple poweroff or for restart reboot.

On the Windows should be the same procedure to logoin with terminal services and make shutdown or if you have ILO advaced license you could use remote console to logon into OS.

mikap
