PSP installation failed

Hi Experts,

I have tried to install the PSP-7.70 on our RHEL V3 Update 4. The installation of hprsm is failed with the following error:

ls: /lib/modules/2.4.21-27.ELsmp/build/include/linux/version.h: No such file or directory

ls: /boot/vmlinuz.version.h: No such file or directory

/lib/modules/2.4.21-27.ELsmp/build/include/linux/version.h does not exist

Please load the appropriate sources to rebuild module.

No Insight Management devices available

(missing or disabled) on this system

This is due to kernel-devel package is not installed on the server. The following are the rpm packages installed on the server:
kernel-utils-2.4-8.37.7
kernel-smp-2.4.21-27.EL
kernel-pcmcia-cs-3.1.31-13
kernel-2.4.21-27.EL

I was browsed internet for downloading of kernel-devel for the kernel 2.4 but i was unable to find.

The Kernel version is kernel-2.4.21-27.EL

Can someone help me where can i download the kernel-devel package for the kernel 2.4.

The package you need is probably kernel-headers, not kernel-devel. Looks like it is not installed, so please try that first.

Later after installing the kernel-source rpm and have tried to install the hprsm package and this time it was failed with the following:

Can someone help me how to fix this.

As suggested by Modris, i have installed the kernel-headers but there is no luck.

Not a very descriptive error message. Maybe check if you have these installed:
*compat-libstdc++
*lm_sensors
*net-snmp
*perl
*libnl
*gcc

These are required for PSP 8.50 on RHEL 4 and 5, but might help you too.
kernel-devel also appears to be required..looks like you are using SMP kernel, so you could try searching for kernel-smp-devel RPM.

HI,

After installing the kernel-source & kernel-headers rpm, the hprsm is still failed to build for the custom kernel.

I searched on web but i was unable to find the kernel sources for kernel -2.4.21-27.EL.

If anyone face the same issue. Kindly help me how to fix this.

The Modris suggested packages i have checked on our server; all those were already installed.
I don't know how to resolve this.
