How does HP11 system work with CUP? Is it a good idea to install CUPS on HP11 Print Server to customize 200 print queues?

First, this is a LINUX forum not the HP-UX forum. Not to worry though someone will link this question over there.

Second, HP11 can be HP-UX 11.00, 11.11 11.15 or 11.16. So its important to be specific. Find you with the uname -a commands.

Older version of HP use Jetadmin while newer versions use webjetadmin and in between there was hppi to administrate printers. Here is the link for webjetadmin, I believe its free:

http://www.hp.com/cposupport/networking/support_doc/bpj06765.html

Hi,

Although this is a Linux forum, let's try a reply.

On Hp-ux, CUPS works exactly the same way as on Linux. I think it is a good idea to customize 200 print queues using CUPS.

However, you cannot expect any support from HP. CUPS is only supported by HP on Linux environment.

Good luck.

Kodjo
