SuSE 10 is a supported OS platform for Lotus Domino, and HP Proliant servers are generally supported for SuSE 10.

So it would seem the answer to your first question is likely to be "yes". However, without knowing the exact server model, I cannot be sure - perhaps your Proliant server is too new for SuSE 10?

Please see:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/supportmatrix/sles/exceptions/sles-exceptions.html

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?&uid=swg27013075

Lotus Domino Server is a commercial product of IBM.

The only way you can legally download it is from IBM... probably after you've paid some money for a license and got an ID & password that will allow you to access the Lotus Notes section of IBM's support website.

(However, if you talk to a IBM sales rep, s/he *might* offer you a limited-time trial license for free.)

MK

If you're going to administer a big IBM product like Lotus Notes/Domino, you *really* should learn to use IBM's support web pages.

1.) Go to www.ibm.com.

2.) Select "Support and downloads".

3.) Type something into the search field in column 1, e.g. "Lotus Domino".

4.) A list of matching products will appear. Click on the checkbox of the product you want (e.g. Lotus Domino: it should be at the top of the list since it exactly matches your search)
and a green button should appear.

5.) Click on the green button. It allows you to choose the exact Lotus Domino version, and then your OS. Select 8.5.1, and then "SuSE Linux Enterprise Server". Then click Submit.

6.) Now you can move to columns 2 and 3. Select "Documentation" in column 2, then click on the arrow in column 3 to enter the main page of Lotus Domino documentation.

If you're going to be a Lotus Notes/Domino administrator, you should probably add that page to your browser's Favorites/Bookmarks/whatever.

MK
