Hi , is there a doc or wiki page explaining clustering or how to on HP / PROLIANT / DL380-G7 servers with configuration of CPU: 2 E5620 2.40GHZ 80W RAM: 64GB DISK: 2x72GB 15K +4 NIC Ports SAN x2 ( its going to be a 8 node cluster connected to SAN via fiber channels ) on CentOS > 5 > x86_64 , I can also consider to set it up on RHEL and GFS if that's what HP prefers .. the application that will reside on these servers will do more writes less reads and does not need to know of the data on other nodes , would greatly appreciate if anyone can provide the insights .

thx,
Tariq

Alan,

Thanks for taking time to reply , I have looked at that doc and several others from redhat about cluster administration , the problem is that all the docs talk mostly about GUI stuff ( the default redhat way of clustering ) and as you would imagine we don't use any GUI stuff on our production servers .

thanks for your reply though !

Install the RHEL/CenTOS Clustering bits. Then Follow:

http://www.linuxdynasty.org/howto-setup-gfs2-with-clustering.html

Optionally setup Conga (luci / rici) and you're all SET for GUI administration if you prefer.

use fence_ilo though for yout fence devices.
